Fiberglass shingles are a lightweight and durable roofing option that can mimic the look of traditional wood shakes or slate. They're made from woven fiberglass mats coated with weather-resistant resins, making them resistant to rot, insects, and harsh weather. I've seen these used on coastal homes where salt spray eats away at metal roofing, and they hold up surprisingly well without corroding or warping.
